The Victory Basketball Teams wrapped up an awesome 2023-2024 Season with a 10th Year Victory Anniversary End of Year Recognition and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 21 March at Spotswood Baptist Church. Guest Speaker, Bob Plantz, spoke on the challenges of establishing Fredericksburg Victory Athletic Association as a competitive homeschool High School program and how important it is to always give your 100% best effort in everything you do and be a light unto the world on and off the court.

We then celebrated the successes of our 2023-2024 Basketball Season.

Victory Varsity Boys under the leadership of Coach Ricky Jones led the VB to the highest VB seeding at the HSPN Eastcoast Tournament in Victory History – 5A. The VB worked really hard this year on teamwork and never giving up. They had several come from behind victories this year.

Victory JV Girls and Coach Rich Tippey worked hard this year in taking on new roles and being competitive in every game they played. Maddie Whitenack, as a Senior, had her best scoring season to date.

Victory JV Boys with Coach Josh Levesque had an amazing year and finished 2nd at the HSPN Preseason tournament, 2nd in States at the VHSAA State Tournament, ranked 1st in the Top Bracket at the HSPN Eastcoast Tournament after Pool Play, and due to injuries finished 4th in the Top Bracket at HSPN Eastcoast Tournament. Congratulations fellows! Terrific work this season!

Middle School Boys and Coach Rick Curry challenged themselves to improving their basketball skill sets, taking on new leadership roles, and being competitive in every game this season. The Middle School Boys look forward to building on what they did this year, since 90% of the boys will still be Middle School age next season.

Middle School Girls Chemistry and Energy Teams with Coach Lynne Conroe finished with an undefeated season for both teams. The MSG Chemistry Team finished higher this season than any MSG Victory Team to date. They took 1st Place at the HSPN Preseason tournament, 1st Place in States at the VHSAA State Tournament, ranked 2nd place in the Top Bracket going into the HSPN Eastcoast Tournament, and won 1st Place in the Top Bracket at HSPN Eastcoast Tournament. The MSG Energy Team never missed a beat and played competitive ball every game giving them an undefeated season, also. Terrific job Ladies! Congratulations.

Dave Short prayed for our Seniors and their families. We pray that you will always pursue Christ and may He bless you, strengthen you, and keep you safe in all of the new adventures that await.

Huge thanks to Dave Short for assisting with the coordination of the End of Year Recognition & Awards Celebration, Nathan Morrow for coordinating the tech component of the evening, Sean Whitenack for praying over our Victory program, and to all the families that supported our homeschooling players in a wonderful competitive High School Basketball program this season.
