The varsity boys team capped off a 10-1 summer season as league champions Saturday evening. While the young men are still learning how to play together, they overcame some very physical basketball and at times, put on a clinic of how to plays all three phases of the game.
This summer season was a great dry run for the fall pre-season league they have just begun. And of course, both of these leagues are skid greasers for the official season starting in November.
A much more important aspect than winning the championship, came on the final evening of games, when a leader within the hosting organization commented how impressed she was with the boys testimony, respectful behavior and togetherness through out the entirety of the season. This is what we strive for – honoring God both on & off the court. Winning is the goal, but only when it comes with giving your all while playing the sport God granted you the ability to play, gifted you the talents you have – and representing Him, your family, the Victory organization in a manner that is honoring and glorifying to God.
Great start gentlemen! #grind #hardwork #resilience #brotherhood
